In forever memory: Erik

We were deeply shocked by the death of our guitarist and most of all good friend Erik Compeer on June 7, 2018. In just four weeks it was over, over and out... We, together with family and friends, said goodbye to him in a small circle in a beautiful way, which suited Erik perfectly, on June 11, 2018. We feel empty, sad and still can't comprehend it... Just like everyone who has known and experienced Erik up close... Then the question arose: To continue the band or not, and if so, how?.

Erik Compeer (1955-2018) played guitar from the age of 10.
First he had lessons from Cor Baan in Bilthoven, later from Stanley Noordpool (classical) and then briefly at the Hilversum conservatory. From the age of 14, Erik played as a lead guitarist in more and less well-known bands in the Utrecht circuit and that has never stopped. Southern rock music by the Allman Brothers, for example, was his favorite genre. At the Blue Highways Festival in Vredenburg, Jon Dee Graham was his favorite and that's how he got to know Jos. Together they started a band (Loving County) in 2001. After many changes in the rhythm section of Loving County aka De Neefjes, they are now complete again with Alfred (drums) and Ferjo (bass).
His gear:
His favorite guitar is his over 45 year old Gibson Les Paul Goldtop with P90 pickups.

But also his The Paul (poor man's LP) and the ES135 with Bigsby are among his things.

His amplifier, a Kool & Elfring Ace de luxe, completes the gear.
